Thunderstorms likely this evening. Then a chance of scattered thunderstorms overnight. Low 59F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

 The police blotter is published to give readers an abridged look at criminal activity in their community and neighborhood. It is simply an illustration of what local law enforcement, funded by taxpayers, must deal with daily throughout the Española Valley.

Española Police officers, Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Police, Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s deputies or State Police responded to the following calls:

12:15 a.m. A Cook’s Mobile Home Park caller said her friend’s boyfriend is there and is damaging the house. She said the couple is arguing and the boyfriend has anger issues.

1:02 a.m. A Fosters in Chama caller reported someone got hit in the head with a baseball bat and is bleeding from the ear.

1:51 a.m. A Silver Lane in Ohkay Owingeh caller said someone crashed into her fence. 

2:11 a.m. A Cook Street caller reported a 43-year-old woman is walking down the road and she can hardly stand. She said the woman is feeling like she might have a stroke, her body is shaking and she can’t stand. She thinks her brother poisoned her with Ajax.

7:20 a.m. An El Guiqe caller said he bought property and someone dumped about 100 tires on it.

11:55 a.m. A Tierra Amarilla caller reported a man was speeding in the area and confronted the driver, telling him she has a gun and isn’t afraid to use it. The man she confronted called 911 and said a woman was waving a gun at him. He said he was going home to get his gun and wave it at her.

2:05 p.m. A Taco Bell caller said the manager is locking the doors and there are customers inside. The manager told police they are just trying to catch up on orders because they are short-staffed, so he locked the doors.

4:40 p.m. A San Pedro Plaza caller reported an autistic 15-year-old boy is being violent with everyone.

4:55 p.m. A North Monterey Lane caller said two men broke into a trailer.

5:28 p.m. A County Road 2 in Santa Clara caller reported two neighbors, who are tribal members, are arguing and yelling and possibly beating each other.

5:32 p.m. A Burger King caller said an employee is doing drugs in the bathroom.

5:37 p.m. A Private Drive 1417 in Chimayó caller reported someone stole car parts and mufflers.

12:24 a.m. A Lindrith caller reported the death of her grandmother.

12:29 a.m. A Santa Clara Apartments caller requested a welfare check on people slamming doors and hitting the walls.

3:28 a.m. An Allsups caller requested a welfare check on a woman in the middle of the road near Little Caesar’s, who is crying.

6:11 a.m. An Española Hospital caller said a 38-year-old woman who’s on a psyche hold is being non-compliant and belligerent.

10:03 a.m. A Walmart caller reported someone in the parking lot hit his girlfriend’s car.

10:19 a.m. A woman walked into the Española Police Department to report fraudulent transactions on her account.

12:07 p.m. A West Don Filigonio caller said three people are in an abandoned house and are using the water hose from next door because there’s no plumbing or electricity in the house.

1:48 p.m. A North Riverside Drive caller reported someone stole his laptop.

2:12 p.m. A Sandy Lane caller wants animal control to pick up a mean dog that sits under the mailbox.

3:07 p.m. A County Road 37 and State Road 68 in Alcalde caller requested a welfare check on a man lying in the weeds.

3:21 p.m. A Rio Arriba Literacy Project caller said she left her bike behind the building and when she returned from the store, the bike was gone.

4:38 p.m. A Rock Christian Fellowship caller reported a man is possibly on narcotics and is in the hallway across from Food King, partially undressed.

4:52 p.m. A Walmart caller said his gun was stolen after he left it in his car. He thinks the person who stole it was an employee who helped him load his groceries.

5:39 p.m. A Tierra Amarilla caller reported a man in a truck swerved at her dogs that were up the road and tried to hit them.

5:50 p.m. A Center Market caller said a man and woman are panhandling in the parking lot.

6:07 p.m. A North Paseo de Oñate caller reported a very drunk man is refusing to leave.

6:24 p.m. A Food King caller said someone hit her car in the parking lot.

6:31 p.m. A Silver Lane caller reported her house was broken into and things were taken.

7:01 p.m. A Calle del Rio caller said people are fighting her husband and son.

7:06 p.m. A Calle Valdez caller reported his ex threw a rock at his windshield and broke it.

7:13 p.m. A Velarde caller said a 34-year-old woman is unconscious and not breathing.

7:32 p.m. A deputy was searching for a young person in Rutheron with luggage. He found the girl but she was uncooperative and told police she has a death wish, before crawling into a culvert. Police were able to get her  out and took her to her grandparents’ house.

7:36 p.m. A State Farm caller said two children are trying to tear down a sign.

3:56 a.m. An Abiquiú Fire Station caller said he feels like someone is trying to set him up. He said it’s hard to explain, but wants to speak with an officer.

6:07 a.m. A Lotaburger manager reported a man who’s been there for three days is refusing to leave. He said the man is sleeping on the sidewalk.

7:59 a.m. A man went to the Española Police Department to report a nine-year-old girl had locked her mother’s handcuffs on herself.

8:26 a.m. A County Road 5 in Española caller requested a welfare check on two men passed out in a car. 

8:28 a.m. A Lindrith caller said his neighbor took the microchips from his game cameras and destroyed the cameras, then left a note on his property telling him to contact them to get the microchips back.

8:49 a.m. A Patsy’s Trailer Court caller reported a man is stealing his catalytic converter.

8:54 a.m. A Del Norte Credit Union caller said a man in the drive-thru is refusing to leave and is threatening a man in the bank.

9:53 a.m. A Chama Post Office caller wants to speak with a deputy because someone at the post office told him they gave him his packages, but he hasn’t picked up anything. He also said they are trying to give him an empty box.

10:08 a.m. A Private Drive 1416 in Chimayó caller said she’s afraid to file a report against her neighbor who’s selling drugs. She said a few days ago, the neighbor intentionally drove into her fence.

11:05 a.m. A Las Lomas Apartment caller reported children broke some windows.

  11:07 a.m. An Espinoza Lane caller said a pack of Rottweilers are on the loose and she’s concerned because they are vicious and her daughter plays outside.

12:52 p.m. A Walmart caller reported a man is sitting in his car, smoking drugs.

2:34 p.m. A Santa Claran Casino caller said a man is sitting in his vehicle near the hotel entrance and looks like he’s overdosing. A security guard said the man woke up and left.

3:59 p.m. A Little Caesar’s employee reported they were giving change to a customer, when a man ran into the restaurant and took the money from their hands, then ran off.

4:13 p.m. A Chama caller said someone broke his mother-in-law’s windows at Patsy’s Trailer Court.

4:16 p.m. A Walgreens caller reported an employee was giving him $50 in change and a man stole it, then ran off.

5:46 p.m. A Santa Cruz Country Store owner said a drunk man is in the store and won’t leave.

6:10 p.m. A Center Market caller reported a girl threatened to beat her up.

6:17 p.m. A North Riverside Drive and Lowdermilk Street caller requested a welfare check on a man lying in the street. Police determined he was very drunk.

7:17 p.m. An East Pueblo Street caller said someone broke into her house and broke the window.

8:03 p.m. A Private Drive 1134A in La Mesilla caller reported his 81-year-old brother is unconscious and not breathing. The Office of the Medical Investigator was called.

8:17 p.m. An Ohkay Travel Center caller requested a welfare check on a man with his pants down, passed out by the library.

9:34 p.m. A Velarde caller reported a two-year-old boy is missing. 

11:18 p.m. A Walmart caller said he feels like he’s overdosing, but he hasn’t taken anything.

12:26 a.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a shirtless man in the middle of the road near Española Valley High School. The caller said the man has his arms out and is yelling and jumping in front of vehicles.

1:33 a.m. A caller said a clerk at Allsups and their significant other might be smoking drugs in a vehicle.

8:01 a.m. A Saiz Lane caller reported a 24-year-old man had a seizure that lasted five minutes and now he’s unconscious and snoring.

8:44 a.m. The Española Valley High School principal said a student had an electronic cigarette with marijuana wax.

9:37 a.m. A Santa Clara Apartments manager reported hearing two women fighting. She heard one say to pull out the gun.

12:53 p.m. A Cañada Court caller said a man was asking for her brother because he sells drugs. The man told her that as long as the drugs are there, he’d be in the area. She said the brother doesn’t sell drugs at her house, but does it out of another house.

1:46 p.m. A Chacoma Lane and Calle Chacoma Vista caller reported a van with a bullet hole in the window was driving slowly and parked at the end of the road.

1:54 p.m. A Walmart caller said a woman pulled an ax on him then got into a minivan.

2:11 p.m. An Abiquiú caller reported a cub is in her chicken coop, chasing her chickens.

2:20 p.m. A Chimayó Post Officer caller said a man left a motorcycle on the side of the building and they want it removed.

2:31 p.m. A Darrin’s Place caller reported a woman is being discharged after she went into the building, high. She’s refusing to leave and they want her escorted out.

2:45 p.m. An Ohkay Travel Center caller said a woman is soaked in water after someone tried to revive her. He said she took three fentanyl pills and was passed out.

3:16 p.m. A Santa Clara Apartments caller reported hearing a couple fighting. She can hear them through the wall and the man is hitting the woman and she’s saying “stop hitting me.” She said the woman moved the air conditioner and tried to crawl out the window, but the man pulled her back in.

6:53 p.m. A Lotaburger caller said a man is yelling at and threatening him and calling him racial slurs.
